Paramount and Compton rise up for undocumented workers
In Paramount, community members spotted ICE vehicles parked near a Home Depot, and they gathered to push them out
On Saturday, June 7th, ICE was seen near a Home Depot and a meat factory in Paramount. News spread quickly, prompting the community to rally in defense of the undocumented workers targeted for arrest by ICE.
Just down the block, at the intersection of Atlantic and Alondra on the Compton side of the city, sheriff's deputies stopped people from entering the Home Depot to prevent further arrests by ICE.
Here is an Instagram reel of my report from that day for CounterPunch Media.
